Summer is...

Cookies with a cup
Of sweet lemonade,
Which makes for a memory
That will never fade.

A soft beach towel
On which to lie,
As the sun continues sinking
Lower in the sky.

A walk with your friends
On a lazy day,
Or spending some time
At an ocean bay.

Watching colorful fireworks
As they explode up high,
It becomes clear
That the end of summer is nigh.

The riches of summer
Are a dreamer’s gold,
For so short a time
It is ours to hold.
