Summer on the Sound
Sway with me in the vivid moonlight,
Your skin so cold and bright in its surprise,
Our embrace
Fractioned
Across infinite water
In a world founded on fairy’s wings.
Dance with me in the blue midnight
Our foxtrot carpeted
With fruit rinds and discarded favors
Ashamed of the opulence laid out
Like organs on the table;
The silver cigarette case and lush lipstick
That you printed on my neck in perfect symmetry.
Run with me in cerulean gardens,
And all the sirens in a line
Twisting their hands through the smoke,
Past the sundials and brick walls,
The obsidian hedges trap the flames and
The carousel spins on.
