don’t take advantage of every moment
for then the moments may not like you anymore

spend your days the way they want to be spent
don’t get a tan if you long for a snowcone
and seasons won’t stop rain (but they also don’t stop you from playing in it)

sit at the poolside if there’s a book asking to be read
long sleeves are lovely if there’s a chill in the air
and eat as much ice cream as you want
