Two nights in a row, visits to medium price restaurants, met at door with apology: "Computer is down. Do you have cash?" Only a couple of days later, when I realized the checks were written on old pads rather than any way a record could be kept did I realize that these receipts were going to be ditched and the cash kept away from accountability.
