I've noticed a major muting of online activity on once-active sites and blogs devoted to community news and concerns, ongoing interests (sports, dogs, arts, etc) and the like. Some sites are almost moribund, longtime contributors have disappeared, updates/posts are few, and those who do post seem "elsewhere." It's a dramatic change, since these sites have been around forever, and have been "old reliables" for info re: local news and interests.
