Listener Challenge: Photo Remix

Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor have made distinguished careers out of manipulating images: he's an old-school darkroom guy, while she's embraced the computer. For this challenge, they provided ten images for you to remix into an original composition.

Mr.Beak enjoys long walks through the woods, butterflies, and vintage clothing.

Crow head flipped and manipulated onto the shoulders of the man using puppet warp with, extra shadows added for the hat. Texture taken from the jacket and overlaid onto the head with a clipping mask to add consistent texture. Hue and Saturation adjustments from there to try and match colors. Background cut away and replaced with forest photo. Leaves added with drop shadow, and border selected for saturation adjustment to make it stand out more.

This beautiful creation was put together by a young 17 year old boy at Canton Central for his Photography class. It contains an older lady sitting on a park playing some guitar while many birds listen in and enjoy the tunes.

My submission is of two hands reaching out both trying to grasp a beautiful buttfly during a gloomy day. The hawks circling in the background add to the gloominess since that means that something has died and they are most likely going to go feast on it.

This is a manipulated work with the leaves in foreground and background, playing with the way they float, while blending with original and adding images subtlety...
Earlier in the week I uploading this image with bad resolution, I was attempting to get this under 5mb- Hope this version finally will appear correct.

Title: The Crazy Tea Party

I put the images together by intuition. What feels right gets manipulated into a dreamlike or nightmarish scenario.

I have had this image in my head for years. I'm so glad that I had the chance to bring it out into the world.

Title: The Messenger

I put the images together by intuition. What feels right gets manipulated into a dreamlike or nightmarish scenario.

This is the messenger of dreams. It brings knowledge to those who will listen.
