Comedian Patton Oswalt thinks that he and his circle of high school friends could be parsed into three different categories Zombies, Spaceships, and Wastelands that shaped their paths to adulthood, their careers, and their lives. Patton says he realizes now that he's a Wasteland...but what are you: a Zombie, a Spaceship, or a Wasteland? Take our survey.
Wasteland
I have a brain,I've let my shields down, but feel externalized as an outside observer
dan
Wasteland
The self-contained world of the spaceship that lands on the wasteland and survives to repopulate the world is my syfi fantasy
Wendy
Wasteland
I want to give up on humanity, but I can't help but see, albeit rarely, people give me hope that some of us make things better by being here.
Frances
Wasteland
That pretty much characterizes everyone else who came of age in the late '70s. It was not an innocent time.
Zeba
Wasteland
I am a zombie and a wasteland. I am too realistic to the point of fatalistic and negative, yet inside I desire to roam the world. Being separate from everyone on my own. When i can't accomplish the roaming, I turn on my zombie self. I also keep a journal and work a menial job.
Jo
Spaceship
Because I like doing Stuff On computers and I Like to write about Post Planetary destruction
Jacob
Wasteland
I most closely resemble Oswalt's clever convention "Spaceship". I habitually avoid aspects of the world that I don't have to be involved in - e.g. I don't like parties - and I have found a career in computers. Although I received A's and B's in college (Institute of Technology, actually), I would likely get an F in Reading Body Language 101. Or so I gather, I can't seem to tell. However, lately, my pupils cannot seem to move from side-to-side without heading north, as I passively observe these humans around me. Why is it humans do anything, anyway? Finally, Wasteland. We could all use a newly level playing field in which to maneuver. The world, I feel, has become to complex. We need a break. Yes, I'm afraid there is a flesh-eating zombie at the controls, zooming through Outer Space, looking for that one, simple planet to call home. Good thing no one else will be there with me.
Jon
Wasteland
I'm saddened by awful events in the world at times, but then I recognize it as the world and accept and love it as that. I feel the same about humanity as well. I always end up more fascinated by it's dark side than disgusted by it.

Zombie

michael
Wasteland
- strange career path
- home is nothing like a spaceship
- not disgusted enough with everything to be a zombie
