Comedian Patton Oswalt thinks that he and his circle of high school friends could be parsed into three different categories Zombies, Spaceships, and Wastelands that shaped their paths to adulthood, their careers, and their lives. Patton says he realizes now that he's a Wasteland...but what are you: a Zombie, a Spaceship, or a Wasteland? Take our survey.
First date with husband in 1978 was his 1st and my 5th Star Wars view. Two children with back up ointments and emergency supplies in the house. It was obvious.
I was always most attracted to the epic interstellar stories of print and film SF. Larry Niven; Jerry Pournelle; H Beam Piper; Robert Heinlein; Allen Dean Foster and David Weber. Fleets of ships exploring or fighting to defend star systems. Space stations and spaceports. Star Trek tv show and Star Trek movies.
I am fascinated by the world and by everything in it. My curiosity is never sated because there is always something to learn. I want to learn all that I can about the people who live here and what they believe and why. Traveling makes me feel alive because I am exploring different places, experiencing new sensations, and encountering strange people who remind me of someone I've met before. I record my thoughts, impressions and wonder in my handwritten journals. I rarely disappointed in anything I try because until I actually do it, a void exists waiting filled.
