In Season: Thanksgiving turkey

WNYC News | Nov 6

The holiday may still be several weeks away, but if you're hoping for a Thanksgiving turkey from a local pasture, the time to order is now.

Amelia Tarpey, Program and Publicity Manager for GrownNYC Greenmarkets, said the turkeys available include broad-breasted white turkeys, which are typically what's purchased in the U.S., as well as smaller, more dark-meat heritage breeds.

Head to GrowNYC.org/gobblegobble to learn more about the turkeys available through the Greenmarket and to reserve your own.
