Reinvent Albany on Open Primaries

We've spent the last two weeks hearing arguments for and against changing the way that New York City currently holds primary elections for municipal office.  

New York uses a closed primary system, where only members of a party can vote in that party's election. But a recent push to change that approach could be put to voters next year.  

John Kaehny is the executive director of the good government group Reinvent Albany. He joined WNYC's Michael Hill with his organization's take on open primaries, and a look at some of the ways that open primaries could take shape.
