Ruido Tovar – El Campeon (Soundcheck Podcast)

Ruido Tovar is a Latin dance music supergroup, although it’s also a very small supergroup. Ruido Tovar is a collaboration between the Mexican Institute of Sound and the Meridian Brothers from Colombia, which sounds like a lot of people but unless they’re touring, the band is essentially a duo: Mexican producer Camilo Lara and Colombian producer Eblis Alvarez. They bonded over their shared love of the cumbia rhythm and their debut album, also called Ruido Tovar, is full of fun, psychedelic takes on Latin dance music with often deadpan vocals. Ruido Tovar's live set in our studio is the latest episode of the Soundcheck Podcast.
