Ian Chang is a drummer, composer, and sound sculptor – he works a lot with samples and electronics, and you may know his fractured yet relatable sound even if his name doesn’t ring a bell. Because Ian Chang is part of the trio Son Lux, who did the madcap Oscar-nominated score to the film Everything Everywhere All At Once. As an in-demand drummer, Chang has collaborated with a variety of rock, soul, and electronic artists, but his solo projects show how sophisticated his sense of sound design can be. He plays a free show on Wednesday night, July 22, at Lincoln Center’s Rubinstein Atrium.
