New York-based multimedia composer and artist Laurie Anderson’s creative work encompasses music, spoken word, film, photography, sculpture, and installations. She was NASA’s first artist-in-residence, has published several books, invented instruments, and produced numerous videos, films, radio pieces, and original scores for dance and film. Sexmob is the “American jazz band based in New York City that formed as a Knitting Factory vehicle for Steven Bernstein to exercise his slide trumpet” (Wikipedia). Bernstein is also a composer, arranger, and bandleader with Millennial Territory Orchestra, Diaspora Soul, and served as musical director for John Lurie's Lounge Lizards.
