Another summer day, another free concert in New York. Central Park SummerStage rocks out tonight with a lineup headed by Spoon, the veteran band from Austin, Texas. With their arty take on indie rock and pop sensibilities, the band became one of the standard bearers of the indie rock movement in the aughts. They’ve also displayed a puckish sense of humor over the years. Their album Lucifer On The Sofa includes a song called "Wild", which is full of winking references to the Rolling Stones hit “Sympathy For the Devil.” Spoon headlines the July 8 free concert at Central Park SummerStage.
