For decades, rock and roll was an art form that kids decided to play without the blessing of their parents. Classical and jazz were taught at school. But rock? You had to pick that up on your own and from equally obsessed peers. So what happens when kids take formal lessons in rock music?
Writer Jayson Greene has been pondering that question. He has a son in a Brooklyn School of Rock and has written about the program for our news site, Gothamist.
