Werk It: Pitchfest Rules
WHO CAN ENTER?
Anyone who wants to develop their podcast idea. Your idea can be an existing podcast that you want to: scale up, increase your download numbers, or it can be a totally new podcast. You do not need to be affiliated with any station or media outlet.
- Employees of NYPR, their immediate family members, or anyone living in their same household may NOT enter.
HOW DO I SUBMIT?
To be considered for the pitch fest portion of the festival you must send a 250 word elevator pitch to jpoyant@wnyc.org by midnight on May 31st.
HOW DO I WIN?
A committee of producers at WNYC will pick eight finalists to advance their ideas at the festival and ultimately compete before a panel of judges to win a gift certificate to B&H for equipment. The goal of the Werk It pitchfest is to help develop your idea. You can use audio in your elevator pitch and at the pitching portion of the festival, but it's not required. You should note how far along you are in the development of your podcast idea and what you are seeking to gain from pitching your idea at Werk It. New York Public Radio retains ultimate discretion in choosing winners. Entrants agree that NYPR has the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from this contest and that all decisions of NYPR (including with respect to winners of each stage) are final and binding.
