Laura R. Walker is President and CEO of New York Public Radio, the largest public radio station group in the nation. An independent and innovative nonprofit dedicated to providing high quality journalism, music and digital products, New York Public Radio reaches an audience of 23.4 million monthly.  Walker leads New York Public Radio during a period of dramatic growth and innovation. Under her leadership, New York Public Radio’s audience has grown from 1 million to 23.4 million, more than $100 million in campaigns has been raised for long term investment, and as Neiman Lab’s Ken Doctor describes it, WNYC is on “innovation overdrive.” She has established New York Public Radio as a place that produces award-winning enterprise journalism, nurtures today’s most creative talent, and creates innovative products that bring the best of public radio to listeners everywhere.

Depelsha McGruder is Chief Operating Officer at New York Public Radio (NYPR), where she leads key internal functions including human resources, legal, engineering / IT, archives and internal communications, ensuring continuous improvements in processes, policies, workspace and talent strategy. McGruder also oversees strategic planning, operations and digital for NYPR and guides implementation of a sustainable growth plan to strengthen and expand WNYC’s local news operation, position WNYC Studios as an incubator of new voices, and create a global classical music audio platform.

Lisa Baird is Chief Marketing Officer at New York Public Radio (NYPR) where she leads the marketing and audience development, data, membership, sponsorship and communications teams. In addition, she is also responsible for raising substantial revenue, increasing audience size and diversity across all programs and platforms, cultivating audience loyalty, and amplifying digital membership.

 

Hillary Strong

Senior Vice President of Development, New York Public Radio

Hillary Strong focuses on New York Public Radio’s revenue growth and oversees major gifts, institutional and planned giving, and special events and campaign functions in the newly created position of Vice President of Development. She has spearheaded ambitious fundraising campaigns for major arts institutions throughout her career, including for the Whitney Museum.

 

Shannon Connolly

Senior Vice President & General Manager of Music, New York Public Radio

Shannon Connolly leads WQXR, where her focus is expanding the digital reach and footprint for classical music. She also advances digital music strategy and audience development across WQXR and WNYC’s digital music offerings, which include a roster of music-focused podcasts and music streams, including WQXR’s live webstream, NewSounds.org (new music and contemporary classical), American Standards, and the critically-acclaimed podcast, Aria Code. Connolly brings over two decades experience to the role. She was responsible for growing digital reach and revenue for the world’s largest music channels at Viacom Music Group.

Jim Schachter

Vice President of News, New York Public Radio

Jim Schachter is Vice President for News at WNYC, where he is responsible for an enterprise-focused radio and digital newsroom, the Gothamist and WNYC.org news websites, as well as programs including On The Media, The Takeaway, The Brian Lehrer Show and All Of It with Alison Stewart. He also leads development and production of a range of WNYC digital properties, such as the highly regarded narrative reporting podcasts Trump, Inc.; The United States of Anxiety; There Goes the Neighborhood; Caught; Aftereffect and The Realness.
