  • Frank: The Imam has been in the area since the 80's. They have already had a strong presence there. This proposal was not started as a statement in relationship to Ground Zero. This was the most ideal piece of property for their initiative and if they move, they will be saying that they agree with the ignorant assertion that they are the same as Al Queda.

  • Tonky, I am right there with you! How dare some Pastor down South tell us how to live our lives. This center should not consider going anywhere else.

  • Excuse me Martin, your point is non-sense. You clearly do not understand Socialism, and that's right, I have no respect for this kind of nonsense. It's based in nothing solid and spouting "Obama's a Socialist" is not an intelligent observation. It is outreageous and ridiculous and the only reason YOU are making such a silly analysis is because YOU don't feel comfortable with the change in our country right now. change the record.

  • THE POINT IS, MARTIN, OBAMA IS NOT A SOCIALIST. The reaction from most people who actually grew up under a Socialist system to this ridiculous assertion that Obama is a Socialist, is "they do not understand Socialism." Your point is not intelligent at all and it needs to be muzzled.

  • oh, chuzzle your wit, Martin! Stop comparing Obama to a socialist.

  • She's wrong. What jobs does she want to see? Paving roads and building bridges is not upscale enough for her? She's spouting talking points. These are peopel who want the financial sector to 'return to normal'. THOSE are the jobs she's talking about. And the fact that TIMES HAVE CHANGED means that in order to create more jobs for the furture, some sectors are going to see a slow down in hiring. The times they are a changin'.

  • The Summer of Census. I worked for the Census, and as a 10 year resident living in NYC, thinking I really was a New Yorker now, I discovered I knew nothing about my neighborhood (Bay Ridge), and really spent the Summer coming to feel as sense of belonging to this city, and feeling that 'getting counted' this time meant more than 2000.
