- I think Paul Krugman has done the best job of describing the disaster and disappointment we have with this "deal". I think he's 100% correct. The right was able to successfully hold the economy hostage and further weaken Obama's hold on his base and potentially extending the slow recovery.
And while I don't think die hard democrats will vote for the right wing in 2012, they may (as they did last November) stay home to send a protest message.
Why? Americans will tolerate a lot of things in their politicians but they won't rally around a wimp. And when we all see Obama getting beat up by losers like Mitch McConnell, we all know he is a wimp.
I expect the Daily Show and Colbert will have a field day with this one. But I won't be laughing, I'll be choking back tears.
- My friend is a 60 year old Phd economist/ He he drives a tired old Toyota Corolla. Lives in a VERY modest house out in the sticks. He has never been on a real vacation - never been to Europe, Asia, even Canada. Doesn't believe or trust in the stock market.
I love him like a brother but, based on knowing and listening to him since I was in high school, I don't think much of so called "experts" on the economy.
- What's happened to "fun". When I was a kid, we had a lot of fun. Now, it's I had the funnest time. That hurts my ears. And, yes, I'm over 16!
- Question: How many moderates does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Answer: None - if you want to screw someone, you need a Republican...
- Tonight is my Porsche Club Region's (NNJR) annual charity auction. Over the past few years, we have donated over $100,000 to local charities. We (the members) donate car related items (and other general interest goodies) and then people make silent bids on them. The highlight tonight for me is a donation from Porsche Cars North America - a $2700 Nomex driving suit used at their 2008 Le mans victory. Very cool indeed. I will be bidding in that bad boy!
