  • I'm now less informed about Conservative policy than I was before listening to Mr. Bolton. My defenses are up when I hear these rapid-fire pundits who are so well trained in debate that they forget we are listening and are turned off.

  • Here's an idea!! Why not have the UN declare the Sinai peninsula a Holy Land, open only to clerics and their followers. Religious extremists of every stripe should be given free passage. Let them toil to obtain food in the desert, get water from arid areas, and generally get to learn what it means to survive in this world. I guarantee they would not last more than a generation.

  • Attn: Martin Chuzzlewit. You seem to imply that a Republican President in Washington would not take a "flexible" approach to the Sinai. Are Republican voters looking for another excuse to invade the Middle East to extract oil and natural gas and install more US military bases? A DE-militarized zone is the only way to ensure peace. Maybe an international presence could ensure this.

  • Would your guest explain how reproduction is used by illegal immigrants to validate their status while using public support systems. Are statistics kept on the young women who are encouraged to produce children in the USA to support parents in their native country? Are stastics kept on undocumented unwed mothers?

  • That's the Problem "Churches are businesses." We need leadership that shows us how to build for the future on less. A no-growth policy would help all mankind but no religious leader is capable of framing the message.

  • How much more air time is given to these illogical, purposely misinformed and totally without political ability to forge public policy. Just another zealot who does not deserve airtime using buzzwords and canned comments. Spare Us!!

  • Kudo's for Robert Reich for opening up the conversation on the overbearing power of Wall Street. I expect all these comments from those who earn a living on Wall Street to raise objections to his arguments. However, his scholarship cannot be disregarded since counterarguments are mostly based on self-interest.

  • At last!! E. J. Dionne has rooted down to the source of our current economic distress. OF COURSE, it's about the fundamental understanding of what we mean by capitalism. We have a flawed dialogue that focuses on scapegoats, on winners and losers, and all the other shallow-thinking that accompanies political and economic dialogue. I wish E. J. Dionne every success as he launches his book. I'm ordering the book today.

  • Unfortunately in our urge to encourage growth at any price to support capital markets, women are destined to be breeders of workers to keep wages low so that corporations and investors, who feed on profits, may thrive. A more hopeful future would be one of slow reduction in all institutions that depend upon mindless labor and endless growth. Women are better suited to devise ways to balance family life, and national well-being, with a cautious eye on the future.

  • Please ask the professor to explain what happened to the Service Economy while corporations and business are cutting out the Support function from their products and eliminating Quality Assurance.
