Back to School - With a "Shooter Drill" in West Orange

It's sobering that one of our first back-to-school stories this August is all about a "shooter drill" in New Jersey. But that's the reality of back-to-school, 2013-style. This was a major school shooting simulation that took place at Liberty Middle School in West Orange on Tuesday. The story was reported by West Orange Patch.

Warrants Released in Sandy Hook Shooting Investigation

Warrants that investigators used to search the home and car of the man who shot and killed 26 people inside a Newtown elementary school were released Thursday morning, as well as information about the ongoing investigation. The documents were sealed for 90 days during the investigation.

The city's department of education also sent suggestions to staffers for calming students who want to talk.
