She sung such classics as “To Sir With Love” and “Shout,” and she’s performed on American Idol, written the Grammy nominated hit “I Don't Wanna Fight” for Tina Turner, and been one of the center pieces of the Mike Figgis/Martin Scorses documentary on the influence of R & B on American music “Red, White and Blues.” Lulu makes her U.S. debut in New York on February 16 at B.B. King Blues Club.

Mare Winningham and Elizabeth Marvel talk about their roles in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s new Broadway production of William Inge’s play “Picnic.” It’s an American classic about the line between restraint and desire. A group of women preparing for a picnic meet a handsome young drifter named Hal whose combination of uncouth manners and titillating charm sends the women reeling, especially the beautiful Madge. “Picnic” is playing at the American Airlines Theater.

Grammy Award-winning singer Aaron Neville talks about his latest album, “My True Story” and his upcoming tour. Neville revitalizes some of his favorite songs from the doo-wop era and beyond, including “Tears on My Pillow” and “Under the Boardwalk.” In March PBS will air the special Aaron Neville: Doo Wop: My True Story—a concert filmed in November at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl. Neville was joined by musicians and guests including Paul Simon, Joan Osborne, Eugene Pitt of the Jive Five, and Dickie Harmon from the Del-Vikings.

The Roundabout Theatre Company is celebrating the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens with new Broadway production of “The Mystery of Edwin Drood.Rupert Holmes talks about writing the book, music, and lyrics, and Jim Norton and Jessie Mueller discuss their roles in the play. Set in a Victorian music hall, a rowdy ensemble of actors mounts a staging of Charles Dickens’s unfinished novel. Everyone on stage is a suspect in the murder of young Edwin Drood—and it’s up to the audience to choose the killer! Each performance ends differently, depending on what the audience decides. It’s playing at Studio 54 through March 10.

Playwright Jackie Sibblies Drury and director Eric Ting discuss “We Are Proud to Present a Presentation About the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as South West Africa, From the German Sudwestafrika, Between the Years 1884-1915.” In the play, a troupe of American actors stumble over questions of authenticity and appropriation as they attempt to reconstruct the little known first genocide of the 20th Century—and land in an exploration that hits closer to home. It’s been extended through December 16 at the Soho Rep.

Michael Feinstein gives an account of the lives and legacies of the Gershwins—told through stories of twelve of their greatest songs and accompanied by an original CD of those songs, performed by Feinstein. The Gershwins and Me: A Personal History in Twelve Songs shares stories from the music that defined American popular song, along with rare Gershwin memorabilia he’s collected through the years. Michael Feinstein is also performing “A Gershwin Holiday” at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency November 27-December 22.
