Peninsula Hospital in Queens Allowed to Keep ER Open

State Health officials are ordering Peninsula Hospital in Far Rockaway, Queens, to stop taking new patients and prepare a transfer-or-discharge plan for the 48 patients occupying beds. But the hospital got a reprieve of sorts. The emergency room, which was set to close Wednesday at 11pm, will continue to remain open for walk-ins.
