At P.S. 51, Students Remain Wary in a New Home

P.S. 51, known as the Bronx New School, has moved into its new home. The school was forced to leave its building on Jerome Avenue in the Norwood section of the Bronx after trichloroethylene, or TCE, a metal cleaner and possible carcinogen, was discovered there.

City Council Promises More Transparency on PCBs in Schools

Before protesters could make their way home from City Hall this morning, the City Council announced it will hold hearings on a bill to demand that the Department of Education notify parents of any PCB contamination found during inspection of public schools.
