MTA Fastrack Coming to No. 1, 2, 3 Subway Lines

Monday, April 09, 2012

It's round two for the MTA's Fastrack on the Seventh Avenue subway lines.
Beginning tonight [mon] shutdowns will start with portions of the 1, 2 and 3 Lines. Service will again be suspended in both directions from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., between 34th Street-Penn Station and Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn for four consecutive weeknights.
For  complete details of service disruptions go to mta dot info or call 5-1-1.
New York City Transit says it has conducted four Fastrack line shutdowns in the first quarter of this year resulting in an unprecedented amount of work. During the first late-night shutdown on the Broadway/Seventh Avenue 123 corridor, 800 maintenance workers completed more than 400 tasks each night. The MTA says that would have taken months under normal operations.

Beginning Monday night, shutdowns will start with portions of the No. 1, 2 and 3 subway lines as part of the MTA's so-called Fastrack program aimed at making overnight repairs to the city's subway system.
