Diocese Sues Catholic HS Over Leasing Extra Space

In a rare move, the diocese of Brooklyn is suing one of its own Catholic high schools. The diocese said the school allegedly violated its contract by renting space inside its building to a charter school, a fierce competitor to Catholic schools citywide.

Catholic Church Closes More New York Schools

Another two dozen Catholic schools will close by the end of the school year. Wall Street Journal reporter Lisa Fleischer says the archdiocese hopes it's the last wave of closures in the consolidation that has shuttered more than 50 Catholic schools in the last two years.
