Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has become the latest figurehead in a multi entertainment empire to be embroiled in sexual harassment allegations. After The New York Times published a story this weekend detailing multiple allegations of harassment and subsequent pay-offs, Weinstein was fired from the board of the Weinstein Company.

Since the firing, high profile celebrities like Meryl Streep have come out to condemn Weinstein’s history of harassment. Still, the news has shaken up the liberal establishment, which has relied on his power and financial support over the years.

Melissa Silverstein, publisher and founder of “Women and Hollywood," discusses the allegations facing Weinstein, and the film industry's response.
