In the past decade, women have stepped into top leadership roles in politics, the military, and across the business sector. Though some of the world's most influential leaders are women, when it comes to decision making, women are often viewed as indecisive.

But the new book "How Women Decide: What's True, What's Not, and What Strategies Spark The Best Choices" seeks to challenge that notion. The work, written by cognitive psychologist Therese Huston, explores how the decision-making process is different for women, and how common myths force women to pay an unfair price.

By breaking down these myths, Dr. Huston says, women can be empowered to make better decisions.
