What "Supercookies" Mean for Your Online Privacy

For months Verizon was under fire for the use of undeletable customer codes, dubbed “Supercookies.” Privacy advocates contented that “supercookies” could be exploited by third parties, like advertisers, to follow users around the web. The company recently announced that customers will be able to completely opt out of the controversial program. Brian X. Chen is a reporter for the New York Times who has been covering the story.
