A visit to Southold Farm + Cellar, a family winery and vineyard, is a favorite day trip on the North Shore of Long Island.

Here are some of the events our colleagues are checking out around town.

KATE HINDS, reporter, Transportation Nation: Today is the first of three Saturdays were you can enjoy nearly seven miles of a traffic-free Park Avenue which is being called Summer Streets by the Department of Transportation. All sorts of activities will line the route and Kate is looking forward to the Park Avenue Tunnel, where Norwegian artist Jana Winderen has set up an audio art installation called Dive.

ANDREA BERNSTEIN, senior editor: Andrea is an avid bike rider and she suggests taking your bike on the Long Island Rail Road out to the North Fork of Long Island. If you don't own a bike you can rent one at a shop where they will deliver it right to the train station. Andrea then suggests a bike tour that includes visits to all the wineries for a tasting. Southhold Farm & Cellar is one of her favorites.

REX DOANE, producer: As a baseball fan, Rex enjoys the majors and the minors and suggests this weekend's Staten Island Yankees game against Auburn. Rex is also a fan of ballparks and says the Richmond County Bank Ballpark is not to be missed since you can view the NYC skyline and passing ships in the harbor during the game.

SUSAN GREEN, receptionist: Susan will be at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple for Comedy with a Purpose's benefit show called All Star Comedy Show on Saturday night.
