This Week in Politics: A Transportation Flap for Christie, Again

Even by Jersey standards, this has been a wild week.

With a deadline looming to fund the state’s nearly depleted Transportation Trust Fund — which pays for highway and bridge repairs — Governor Chris Christie cut a deal with the state assembly to raise the gas tax and cut the sales tax. The state senate said no, the funding deadline came and went, and Christie issued an executive order to shut down all but the most essential Transportation Trust Fund projects.
