U.S. Women Take Center Stage At The Rio Olympics

In 1972, American women won just 23 medals compared with the 71 captured by American men at the summer Olympics in Munich.

But in 2012 at the London games, the U.S. women won more medals than the men for the first time. They are favored to do so again in Rio, where also once again, the American team will have more women than men.
