Emily Bazelon, a staff writer for The New York Times Magazine and a senior research fellow at Yale Law School, joins us to discuss her recent cover story, “Department of Justification.” She examines the shared vision that White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon and attorney general Jeff Sessions have for remaking America, and how the nation’s top law-enforcement agency can serve as a tool for enacting it. Bazelon will also discuss Sessions’ undisclosed meetings with the Russian ambassador, and what this means for the future of the Justice Department.
