Tips for Making a Living as a Writer

The Leonard Lopate Show | Feb 13, 2017

Editor Manjula Martin, and authors Leslie Jamison and Alexander Chee, join us to discuss Scratch: Writers, Money, and the Art of Making a Living, a practical guide for aspiring writers who are looking to make a living doing what they love. Jamison and Chee, along with other published authors like Cheryl Strayed and Roxane Gay, detail the realities of money, MFA programs, freelancing, teaching fellowships, finally getting published, the bestseller list and how they define “success.”

There will be a panel event, moderated by Maud Newton, and featuring Manjula Martin and fellow Scratch contributors, Leslie Jamison, Porochista Khakpour, and Emily Gould, on Wednesday, February 15th at PowerHouse Books at 28 Adams St, in Brooklyn, at 7:00pm. For more information, click here.
