Our minds wander when we sit in darkened rooms listening to music. But sometimes they journey to stranger places than usual. Kirk J. Rudell’s monologue appeared in The New Yorker’s Daily Shouts. It is performed for “The New Yorker Radio Hour” by the comedian Jim Gaffigan, whose new album, “Cinco,” is out in June.
