Why do these overly self-protective authors come on Leonard's show if they don't want to be more forthcoming? Susan Minot did herself no good, and was extremely rude both to Leonard and his audience. The audience deserves better, as does the always-prepared and super-courteous Mr. Lopate.

She was so hostile to Leonard, who was hardly antagonistic. Ouch. Don't want to read it now.

I felt Ms. Minot's comments about Africans in Africa were snarky and unfair to Mr. Lopate, who was simply trying to draw her out with an innocent question.

She comes across as aloof. I understand writers may be introverts but this is the promotion of your book! can you try harder?
