Emily's line of thinking, that you treat the police force with utmost care but try to keep them as far away from your life as possible is a very good way to act.

The police do cause trouble, most especially if you are any type of a minority. I fully expect to be pounded into the ground for this (can't generalize, blah, blah, blah) but it's true, unless you are an active victim of a crime with the potential for violence - leave the police out of it.

If you do have them in your house, lock up your pets - police shoot animals as a matter of course.
