Filmmaker Gabe Polsky tells us about his new documentary, “Red Army,” about the rise and fall of Soviet hockey. He’s joined by NY Rangers legend Rod Gilbert and Doug Brown, who played with Russian stars on the NJ Devils and Detroit Red Wings. We’ll find out how a new generation of super-athletes, coaches, and scientists are redefining the limits of the human body. Mark Leibovich, chief national correspondent for The New York Times Magazine, explains the art of writing profiles of politicians. Director Tim Smith tells us about “Sex and Broadcasting,” about WFMU, along with Ken Freedman, WFMU’s station manager. And co-directors Lisa Jackson and Sarah Teale on “Grazers,” their documentary about how a disparate group of cattle farmers in upstate New York created a coop to survive.
