Terms of Art: TV Writer Lingo with David Mandel

David Mandel has written for some of the funniest and most influential TV shows of the last three decades: he started out at “Saturday Night Live” in the early 90’s, moved on the “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and is now the head writer of “Veep.” As part of our Terms of Art series, David walks Kurt through some of his favorite TV writer lingo. He explains why zhuzhing gives “Veep” its realistic feel, why pulling a Thanksgiving dinner might get you fired from his staff, and why laying pipe is so tough in a 30-minute sitcom.
