In 2017,  the New Orleans band Tank and the Bangas won NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest. It catapulted the band to national attention, and they have remained public radio favorites ever since. Over the past almost-decade, Tank and The Bangas have built their considerable reputation on their high octane, dance ready blend of R&B, hip hop, spoken word, and pop. Led by the shapeshifting voice of Tarriona “Tank” Ball, the band recently visited our studio and performed this song, called “Move.” Tank and the Bangas' full live set in our studio is the latest edition of the Soundcheck Podcast.
