Novelist and short story writer Tama Janowitz, author of Slaves of New York, talks about her first book in over 10 years: Scream: A Memoir of Glamour and Dysfunction. She details her life as a writer in NYC during the 1980s, when she socialized with Andy Warhol and Lou Reed, partied at Studio 54, and other “brat pack” writers like Bret Easton Ellis and Mark Lindquist.

Event: Tama Janowitz will be signing books at The Strand Bookstore (828 Broadway & 12th Street) on August 9th at 7 p.m. She'll also be in conversation with Kat Kinsman.
