Joe Kloc, web editor and digital director for Harper's Magazine, and Rogene Jacquette, deputy editor and senior web producer at The New York Times, discuss some of the more significant stories over the past two weeks that may have been overshadowed by the Republican and Democratic national conventions.

Jacquette discussed stories that encompassed issues at the center of both conventions, including a federal court striking down voter ID requirements in North Carolina and the conviction of six state employees in the Flint water contamination crisis, while Kloc touched on the ban of fake bomb detectors in Iraq, after a suicide bomber killed 300 people in Baghdad on July 3.
