Celebrating 60th Anniversary of "Sarah Vaughan & Clifford Brown" @ Dizzy's (New York, NY) - Head uptown tonight to celebrate two giants of jazz. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the album, "Sarah Vaughan & Clifford Brown." Tonight, critically-acclaimed musicians will pay tribute to the legendary album including: Sean Jones & Keyon Harrold (trumpet), Nasheet Waits (drums) and Raymond Angry (keyboards), plus newcomers Kennedy and Joanna Teters (vocals). John Pizzarelli Quartet @ Yoshi's (San Francisco, CA) - If you listen to The Jonathan Channel at all regularly, you've probably heard of John Pizzarelli. If not, it's not a bad idea to check him out. He's a favorite of ours AND a guitar virtuoso- a master of the American Songbook and jazz guitar. Tuesday and Wednesday evening, he's at Yoshi's with his Quartet. http://www.yoshis.com/sanfrancisco 

Cyrille Aimée @ Rockport Jazz Festival
 (Rockport, MA) - Thursday evening, French vocalist Cyrille Aimée will be performing at the Rockport Jazz Festival. A favorite of ours, Cyrille is the recipient of much critical acclaim, hailed recently by The New York Times as a "brilliantly inventive jazz vocal prodigy." Freddy Cole Quartet @ Blues Alley (Washington, DC) - The Cole's are a remarkably talented musical family. You know who we're talking about: Nat King Cole, Ike Cole, Natalie Cole...Thursday evening in Washington check out jazz singer and pianist Freddy Cole. An artist whose recording career spans over 50 years, Cole and his Quartet will be installed at Blues Alley Thursday-Sunday. http://bluesalley.com/events.cfm

2014 Montclair Jazz Festival (Montclair, NJ) - According to Google Maps, it's a little under an hour from Central Manhattan to Montclair, NJ. That's not a lot of travel time for a day of talented musicians. This year's line-up includes a well-rounded sampling from contemporary jazz: 3-time Grammy award winning bassist Christian McBride, legendary guitarist John Scofield and the Cuban bandleader/pianist Chucho Valdés. Kenny Barron Trio @ Rockport Jazz Festival
 (Rockport, MA) - If you're headed to Rockport Jazz Festival, you should check out Cyrille Aimée - we've covered that. But while you're there, don't miss Grammy-nominated pianist, Kenny Barron performing on Saturday evening. Celebrating Dinah Washington @ Dizzy's (New York, NY) - This Saturday evening, The Denise Perrier Quintet & Houston Person celebrate one of the most beloved female recording artists of the 1950s - Dinah Washington. Michael Feinstein & The Pasadena Pops @ LA County Arboretum (Arcadia, CA) - It's a night of Hollywood with the Pasadena Pops and master interpreter Michael Feinstein.
