#3705: Spring Awakenings?

"Spring"
From

From Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, as recomposed by Max Richter to spring-themed music from Taiwan’s A Moving Sound, we mark the vernal equinox with a program of music anticipating the new season. (Despite the 3-6 inches of snow predicted.) Listen to Norwegian Hardanger fiddle and bluegrass fiddle together in the odd chamber group called QQQ. Also, from New York-based sax & clarinet wizard/composer Ken Thomson and his outfit Slow/Fast, there’s a work called, “Spring.” Then, there’s music for the apricot wood-made reed instrument, the duduk, from Armenia. Plus, music by Denver-based bass player Matt Skelleger, one of Meredith Monk’s “Songs of Ascension,” and more.
