Friday, May 23, 1947

This episode is from the WNYC archives. It may contain language which is no longer politically or socially appropriate.

Dr. Edvard Beneš, President of the Czech Republic, gives speech to honor Mayor La Guardia. Speech is broadcast from Prague. A woman introduces the station, plays a record, and announces the beginning of Benes' speech.

Broadcasted via shortwave station OLR5A broadcasting for WQVWLL- opens with tone. Good deal of "behind the scenes" audio, music and radio interference.
