Some Great Recommendations From Our Book Club Members

The Leonard Lopate Show | Sep 27, 2017

Last month, in our newsletter, we asked members of our Book Club to recommend books that help them understand the world, or books that they use to escape from it. There's no shortage of reminders that we live in a charged political atmosphere, in the U.S. and around the world, and it affects everyone. It has affected how family members talk, or don’t talk, to one another. It has contributed to long lasting friendships being torn apart. Throughout history, we have turned to literature for knowledge and understanding. We are hoping that these book club recommendations can contribute, at least a little, to a better understanding of the modern world, or at least just a good read!

At the top of the list was The History of Love by Nicole Krauss. It follows several characters searching for love and looking for their place in the world. Perhaps book club members are trying to tell us something?
