The Silver Lining of Trauma

The Leonard Lopate Show | Aug 11, 2015

Jim Rendon spent years researching the positives of living through life-changing traumatic experiences. The phenomenon is called post-traumatic growth and it's an emerging field of psychological research that shows how the suffering caused by traumatic events can be harnessed as a force for self-improvement and success rather than destruction. Rendon discusses his new book, Upside: The New Science of Post-Traumatic Growth which reveals that while many survivors of trauma suffer PTSD, psychologists have also discovered that with the right circumstances and proper support, survivors can actually emerge from their trauma stronger, more focused, and with a new and clear vision for the future.

EVENT: Jim Rendon will be at BookCourt on August 12, 2015 at 7:00 PM, speaking & signing copies of his book.
163 Court Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201
