More Sexist Language and Attitudes Out in the Open Post-Election

The Brian Lehrer Show | Jul 25, 2017

Susan Chira, senior correspondent and editor on gender issues for The New York Times, talks about her latest reporting project, which will explore whether women are noticing that men have less shame expressing sexist attitudes and remarks since the presidential election. One example is the "almost violent" reaction to the three female senators, including Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Shelley Moore, who have come out publicly opposing the health care bill. Chira is currently crowdsourcing stories from women who have experienced this and if you'd like to submit yours, you can find out more information here or you can email her at chira@nytimes.com.
