Midday on WNYC | Sep 12, 2018

Separate and Equal, a performance inspired by compelling stories from the Oral History Project at the Birmingham Civil Rights Museum and produced in partnership with the Birmingham Metro NAACP, is debuting in New York City at 59E59 Theaters. Set in the 1950s Jim Crow Alabama, the play follows six young adult men as they struggle to thrive beyond systemic racism. Writer and director Seth Panitch and cast actors Adrian Baidoo and Ross Songbird join to discuss. Performances run through September 30.

This segment is guest hosted by Matt Katz.
