This Segment Will Make You Angry

Buzzfeed's Craig Silverman wrote a widely-read profile of a group of Macedonian teenagers who built bogus pro-Trump sites during the election. It revealed a critical fact about so-called “fake news”: many of the people who produce these fake sites are in it for the traffic, shares, and ad revenue, not the political effect. 

As it turns out, some of the businesses that produce this outrage-inducing, hyper-partisan clickbait, like American News, LLC, re-purpose the same content for the right and the left. Craig and Bob discuss the craft and longevity of hyper-partisan news and how Facebook could, but probably won’t, attempt to end it.
